Neighborhoods to know
Clifton is a city of distinct sections, and the right one depends on your commute, budget and the kind of street you want. Names you'll hear include Allwood, Athenia, Albion Place, Botany Village, Delawanna, Dutch Hill, Lakeview, Montclair Heights, Richfield and Rosemawr.
Albion Place sits next to Garret Mountain Reservation, and Rosemawr is a quieter, largely residential section. I'll help you compare them street by street.
Getting around
Clifton is crossed by the Garden State Parkway, Route 3, Route 46, Route 21 and Route 19, which makes driving to Bergen, Essex and Morris County straightforward.
For New York commuters, NJ Transit's Main Line stops at Clifton and Delawanna stations toward Hoboken, and several NJ Transit bus lines run to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown.
Before you buy in Clifton
Every New Jersey purchase goes through a three-day attorney review after the contract is signed, so it pays to have your team ready. Here's how attorney review works.
Property taxes and housing styles vary from one section of the city to another, so we'll look at the full monthly cost, not just the list price, before you make an offer.
