Meet Alejandro "Alex" Barcenas
Alex is a licensed New Jersey realtor with RE/MAX Select, helping buyers and sellers across Passaic and Bergen County in English and Spanish.
Alex grew up in North Jersey, spent five years in North Carolina, and came back home to New Jersey during the pandemic — with a fresh appreciation for what makes this area special.
Before real estate, he built a career at Fortune 500 companies, many of them major banks, as a Software Development Engineer in Test. His job was to find problems before they ever reached a customer. Eventually he wanted to build a business of his own around helping people directly — and real estate was the natural fit. He brings the same mindset to every move: catch issues early, check every detail, and keep clients informed so closing day holds no surprises.

Do you work with first-time buyers?
Yes — and it's some of my favorite work. We start with a free consultation to go over budget, loan options and the buying process step by step, in English or Spanish, so you know exactly what to expect before you make an offer.
What is attorney review in New Jersey?
When a realtor prepares your purchase contract in New Jersey, the buyer and seller each have three business days to have an attorney review it. During that window either attorney can propose changes or cancel the contract. I'll explain what to expect and keep things moving.
Do I need a 20% down payment?
Not necessarily. Many loan programs allow a much smaller down payment, and New Jersey and some counties and towns offer assistance for eligible buyers. I'll connect you with lenders who can tell you what you qualify for.
How much is my home worth?
Online estimates often miss what makes your home different. I'll prepare a free, no-obligation valuation based on recent comparable sales in your town and walk you through what could raise your sale price.
Can you help me sell my home and buy another at the same time?
Yes. We plan the timing together — pricing, listing, and your search — so you're not stuck carrying two homes or rushing into the wrong one.
